Creating a Legacy

The Josh Buehler Athletic Scholarship Endowment Fund is created by family, friends, and colleagues in memory of Joshua Ian Buehler (1975 - 2016). Josh earned his Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999, where he was captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and competed in both NCA and UCA Cheerleading National Championships. After graduation, Josh maintained his involvement in the cheerleading program. He coached from 2000 to 2002 and continued to volunteer after that, impacting generations of Georgia Tech cheerleaders even through a brain cancer diagnosis in 2015. Josh is survived by the love of his life, Jenna Ward Buehler, and daughter Reilly who was born just 7 weeks prior to Josh's death. In establishing this Fund, Josh's legacy will continue to positively impact Georgia Tech Cheerleading and provide his wife and daughter the benefit of relationships with GT cheerleaders who best exemplify Josh's character.

Challenge Match

In order to preserve Josh’s legacy into the future as a tribute to his family, the Novak Foundation will double the impact of your gift by matching dollar for dollar up to $50,000! Gifts of any size are appreciated and make a difference. Gifts and commitments can be made on a recurring monthly basis and/or paid over 5 years. To make a pledge, please email Whitney Waldron at the A-T Fund.

Why Give?

Josh was a mentor to many of the members of the cheerleading community, working at several gymnastics and cheerleading gyms in the Atlanta area. Giving to this endowment will ensure his legacy in Georgia Tech Cheerleading, where his talent and passion will continue to impact generations of GT cheerleaders. Scholarships will be awarded to recipients who best fit Josh's legacy: a determined, precise, and focused athlete; a supportive and encouraging teammate; a dedicated and loyal Georgia Tech fan; and, an individual who exudes confidence, is a friend to all, and is selfless in all endeavors.
